Kirtana Romfh

Kirtana Romfh, 18, started learning Bharatanatyam at age 4 from Smt. Hema Rajagopalan as part of the Natya Dance Company of Chicago. At age 6, she moved to Massachusetts where she continued studying dance under Smt. Jyoti Raghavan as part of the Nrityanjali Dance Co. In 2013, after moving to California, she began studying with Smt. Mythili Kumar and Abhinaya Dance Company. She has performed in annual student dance recitals as well performances in several Bay Area temples. Since 2019, she has performed under the direction of Smt. Malavika Kumar Walia in Abhinaya's Junior Dance Company, including performances at the San Francisco International Arts Festival. In addition to Bharatanatyam, Kirtana is learning Carnatic music from Sruti Sarathy.


Kirtana will graduate from Palo Alto High School in 2022 where she finds joy in diverse classes ranging from mathematics to art history and auto shop. She has a passion for Spanish language and Latin culture, and has led language programs for bilingual children. Most importantly, Kirtana adores her younger brothers, both of whom are following in her Bharatanatyam footsteps.


Kirtana will study Applied Mathematics (with a minor in Spanish) in the Fall.
